چکیده

Various statistical methods were applied in this research: analysis of genetic parameters, Pearson's correlation, genotypic and phenotypic correlations, Path analysis, with the aim creating a selection criterion for increasing wheat grain yield. A two-year experimental study was conducted twenty-seven genotypes, grown on two localities: Rimski Šančevi (Bačka, Vojvodina), Chernozem soil type; Kumane (Banat, Solonjec type. The highest values coefficient variation (CVp) had weight per plant (17.44% 13.81% Solonetz), while lowest value CVp thousand (8.12% 5.47% Solonetz). On Chernozem, (CVg) ranged from 1.51%, number grains spike, to 9.17% spike length, Solonetz, CVg (0.36%) height one (11.15%). At both localities, yield highly significant positive correlations all analyzed traits, except length. In favorable environmental conditions (Chernozem), revealed that directly depends (0.317**), (0.232**) (0.209**), other traits have indirect effect over mentioned traits. Under salinity stress conditions, direct (0.891**), which makes trait good breeding tolerance.

Valuations of Variables as Selection Index for Improving Grain Yield in Bread Wheat

Identifying selection indices is the most important step of a breeding project that aims to improve grain yield. The definition of the selection index is usually done by evaluating the variables in multivariate statistical methods. In the present study, the relationship between grain yield and its components in bread wheat genotypes was determined by multivariate statistical methods. The experi...

Genomic prediction models for grain yield of spring bread wheat in diverse agro-ecological zones

Genomic and pedigree predictions for grain yield and agronomic traits were carried out using high density molecular data on a set of 803 spring wheat lines that were evaluated in 5 sites characterized by several environmental co-variables. Seven statistical models were tested using two random cross-validations schemes. Two other prediction problems were studied, namely predicting the lines' per...

Assessment Iron Application to Improve Agro-Morphological Traits and Bio-Fortification of Grain Wheat Grown in Different Nitrogen Conditions

Bio-fortification of food crops is a cost-effective and sustainable agricultural strategy to decrease malnutrition arising from micronutrients deficiencies. Accordingly, the pot experiments have been conducted to investigate the effectiveness of various foliar-applied iron (Fe) fertilizers in increasing agro-morphological traits and grain micronutrients concentrations of bread wheat plants unde...

Use of Selection Indices for Improving Grain Yield in Sesame Local Populations

The selection of genotypes based on multiple traits is a fundamental issue and an important part of the process of plant breeding. In the present study, the efficiency of selection indices based on phenological, morphological and physiological traits was studied to improve sesame grain yield. The evaluation of 25 sesame populations was realized in a completely randomized design with 10 replicat...
